A public private initiative, PHFI – Public Health Foundation of India works with a mission to strengthen the public health and systems of India and offer knowledge in order to achieve better health outcomes for each individual in India. Launched by existing Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in 2006 at New Delhi, PHFI realizes the fact that the shortfall of health professionals is imperative to holistic response to the concerns of public health in India. This in turn needs health care to be addressed not only from scientific perspective regarding what works but at the same time the social perspective of who requires it the most.
